Edwin T. Thomas, May 15th, 1830

On Sunday morning between eight and nine o’clock, January 24, 1830, a fire broke out in a dwelling on Lombard St., between Second and Third Sts. While responding to this fire, Edwin Thomas, a member of the Hand-in-Hand Fire Co., stumbled and fell, and the wheels of the company’s large engine ran over his head. After suffering for almost four months. He died of his injuries on May 15, 1830.
