Thomas F. Fitzgerald, June 6th, 1916

On Monday, June 5, 1916 at 2:01 AM, an alarm was sounded on Box 5 – 3rd and Washington Avenues for a fire located at 909 S. 2nd Street, a three-story brick cigar store and dwelling.

While en route to this fire, Hoseman Thomas F. Fitzgerald of Engine 3 was seriously injured when he was thrown from the wagon on which he was riding.

He died the next day, June 6, 1916 from his injuries.
