Thomas Donahue, November 26th, 1954

On Friday, November 26, 1954 at approximately 2:30 PM, Platoon “C” of Engine Co. 1 responded to a Local Alarm at 1001 S. Bouvier Street. Battalion Chief James Davis ordered the box at 18th & Christian struck for additional help for a fire in the cellar of a private dwelling occupied by Mrs. Lena Allen.

During this fire, Fireman Thomas Donahue of Engine 1 collapsed on the pavement, was rendered unconscious, and removed to Graduate Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
