Joseph Taylor, May 18th, 1893

On Monday, May 8, 1893 at 6:53 PM, an alarm was sounded on Box 171, Orchard above Mill Street, Frankford, for a fire at the Caldwell Antrim Company – umbrella manufacturers.

While operating at this fire, Hoseman Joseph Taylor fell from a ladder and was seriously injured.

On May 18, 1893, ten days later, Hoseman Taylor died of his injuries.

The fire reached four alarms and the loss was estimated at $140,943.
