Joseph A. Fahey, August 8th, 1913

On Thursday, August 7, 1913 at 1:46 PM, an alarm was sounded on Box 2196, Water and Mifflin Streets for a fire in the two-story brick Union Petroleum Company located at Water and Mifflin Streets.

While operating at this fire, Hoseman Joseph Fahey of Engine 32 was seriously injured when he fell from a ladder on which he was working and struck his head on a pole.

Hoseman Fahey died the next day on August 8, 1913, at the University of Pennsylvania Hospital. The cause of death was listed as a fractured skull.
