John J. Crupp, June 13th, 1950

On Tuesday, June 13, 1950 at 7:22 PM, an alarm was sounded on Box 2658 (Private Box located at 2223 E. Allegheny Avenue) for a fire in the Food Fair Warehouse at the northwest corner of Tulip & Allegheny Avenues.

While operating at this fire, Ladderman John J. Crupp, acting Lieutenant of Truck 10, fell through a glass skylight on the roof of the building.

Acting Lieutenant Crupp was taken to Northeastern Hospital and was treated for a fractured skull and punctured lung. He died of his injuries three hours later.
