James A. Murtha, December 2nd, 1940
On Monday, December 2, 1940 at approximately 8:00 AM, Hoseman James A. Murtha was in uniform and on his way to work. He was detailed to the Fire Marshal’s Office at the time.
While on his way to work, Hoseman Murtha was struck by an automobile while crossing Mascher Street near Nedro. He was struck by Raymond Wartman. Wartman placed Hoseman Murtha in his car and took him to the Jewish Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
Hoseman Murtha was 62 years of age at the time of his death.
