George Snap Wentz, December 25th, 1912
On Sunday, December 14, 1912 at 5:41 PM, an alarm was sounded on Box 61, 2nd and Laurel. While in route to this alarm, Hoseman George “Snap” Wentz of Engine 6 was seriously injured when he was thrown from the hose wagon.
Hoseman Wentz died from his injuries on Christmas Day, December 25, 1912. The cause of the alarm was a “pulled box”.
