Frank L. King, May 17th, 1913

On Thursday, April 17, 1913 at 10:15 PM, an alarm was sounded on Box 537, 7th and Spring Garden Streets for a fire at the W.T. Wescott Candy Company, a three-story brick building located at 701-09 Spring Garden Street.

While operating at this fire, Hoseman Walter Costello, Hoseman Frank L. King, and Hoseman Charles Moritz, all of Engine 23, died when they became buried under a falling wall.

The fire loss was $91,000. Hoseman King was 29 years old at the time of his death.
