Our fallen hero

On Monday, April 21, 1952 at 9:57 AM, Platoon “C” of Engine 45, Truck 14, and Battalion 3 responded to a Local Alarm for a smokey fire located at 2011 N. 32^nd Street.

Upon returning to the station, Hoseman Edward R. Guenther of Engine 45 advised Lieutenant Ralph Williams that he was sick. Lieutenant Williams sent Hoseman Guenther home, where he collapsed a short time later and died.
