Edward J. LeHart, May 30th, 1933

On Wednesday, May 24, 1933 at 3:30 PM, an alarm was sounded on Box 4363, 24th & Locust Streets for a fire in the Dairy Laboratories, located at the southwest corner of 23rd and Locust Streets.

While operating at this fire, Hoseman Edward LeHart of Engine 43 was overcome by chemical fumes. He was taken to the Graduate Hospital. He was later transferred to the Philadelphia General Hospital where he died of his injuries at 4:30 AM on May 30, 1933.
