While COVID-19 has postponed this year’s golf outing we wanted to bring our loyal supporters and friends together for a virtual event filled with golf stories or tall tales, updates from Commissioner Thiel, surprise appearances by area celebrities and an online auction. Our annual golf outings are a major source of revenue for Fireman’s Hall Museum and we need your support to help us continue our programming through this pandemic.
There is still an opportunity to golf for those who wish and compete for awards. To enter into the competition we ask that all golfers play the course at Westover Country Club, take photos during the game and submit them along with a digital copy of your score card. Players need to call Westover a week in advance to reserve their times, they can golf anytime the course is open – 6:30 am – 6:00 pm. Payment should be made through our website. We ask that you complete your golfing sometime between September 15 and October 22nd. We’ll be having an on-line awards ceremony on Tuesday, November 10th. We’ll share your golf stories, award prizes and announce raffle winners.
We need your support
We are very grateful to PECO who once more is the lead sponsor for this event and to the NFSA who is so generously supporting us. We need your help as well, however. We are looking for sponsors on as large or as small a scale as you choose. Options include the shotgun start at $1000; gold sponsor levels at $500 and silver sponsors at $250. You’re also welcome to sponsor virtual tees ($200) or greens ($100). While we cannot put your name on the course we can highlight your organization with a sign at the museum and showcased during the event All sponsors will also be acknowledged through social media and on our website.
Not able to golf?
We’re also looking for donations of items we can auction, gift certificates, electronic equipment, sporting goods equipment – golf themed or otherwise . Philadelphia Fireman’s Hall Museum is a registered 501(c)(3) charitable organization. In accordance with IRS guidelines, the fair market value for attendance at the 2020 Golf Inning has been set at $50 per person. Any amount contributed above that value is tax deductible to the fullest extent allowed by law.
